Prism Glass
116 Qunicy St |
Prismatic glass, found in many commercial
buildings in the late 1800s and early 1900s, was used to help illuminate interior spaces
naturally, using the principle of refraction to redirect the sunlight into the far reaches
of the showroom.
The decoration on these prismatic glass panels was taken from
a design patented by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1897 and manufactured by the Luxfer Prism
Company of Chicago, Illinois. |
