Is this the answer to high gas
prices? A jump in time to an earlier era. (The building in the
background, Bruno’s Motors, was torn down the following week as part
of a major remodeling project). It was another great Bridgefest
Parade, but there were other activities as
well. |

The Street Hockey Tournament,

New to Bridgefest this year, the
WBKP-TV & Pat’s Food’s/ Festival Food’s sponsored KIDS

Sunday’s activities included
a trail bike competition on Hancock’s Maasto Hiihto Ski Trails. This

And finally the event everyone was
waiting for, the annual Cardboard Regatta. ‘Bragging rights’ were
on the line, as the City of Houghton’s entry "DC Love II",
and the City of Hancock’s craft "USS Arizona", faced off.
The DC Love II eventually edged out the USS Arizona in a tight race.
There’s always next year, and we hope everyone will join us for
Bridgefest 2002, the 15th annual, on the third weekend in June. |
