2007 Clean Snowmobile Challenge
The Fifth Annual CSC, at Michigan Tech, was held the third week of March. Begun in 2000, in Yellowstone National Park, in Colorado, the collegiate engineering competition is held on the 500 acre test and research facility at Michigan Technological University's Keweenaw Research Center, at the Houghton County Airpark Complex.

A machine is loaded with a precisely measured amount of fuel, to measure fuel economy. Among the Challenges goals, to lower snowmobile emissions and noise levels. Many machines are using renewable biofuel mixtures, which will be required of all machine entries next year.

Some of the dignitaries addressing the crowd at Tuesday's Grand Opening. Unfortunately, recent mild weather caused a cancellation of the 50 mile endurance run to Copper Harbor, but the endurance event was completed on the KRC test track. There were 4 entries this year in a new category - zero emissions - with all electric machines.

And here, the machines with their student development teams. We hope we'll see them all, and more, at next years Ninth Annual CSC.
