Phi Kappa Tau's Statue Takes Second Place. Takes First Place Overall for Fraternities
Michigan Tech's Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, Hancock, took Second Place in the 2007 Winter Carnival Snow Statue month long Fraternity competition.

Following the Christmas break, statue making at Phi Kappa Tau got into full swing. Having been given access City wide for getting good clean snow (we had one of the lightest early season snowfalls in history), they were able to get a good amount at the Campground area.

Things begin to take shape near the end of the final full week before MTU Winter Carnival gets under way.

As the final night before judging comes, the Fraternity crew makes final adjustments, cleans up the area, and does lettering and other intricate work before 9am judging on Thursday morning.

And the completed Statue, immediately after judging. Titled..."ANCIENT CHINESE CULTURE IN AN ICY SCULPTURE", the Statue garnered Second Place in the Statue competition, and helped Phi Kappa Tau to a Third Place overall ranking in the 2007 Winter Carnival Fraternity competition.
