here passing the Portage Lake Lift Bridge and the Houghton County
Marina. |

This 95 ft. yacht visited for a
while this summer, owned by an alumni of MTU. Visits by larger size
yachts are becoming more common in the past few years and downtown
deep water docks are becoming an item of need. |

October brings another event to
the Houghton county Fairgrounds in Hancock. The annual MTU
4-Wheelers Mud Bog, bringing in contestants from WI, and, MI. Here,
some of the custom built, high horsepower open class rigs. |

Now this is a MUD HOLE!!! And
as this vehicle found out, it's DEEP, it's Thick, and it's LONG. Few
made it through, and this event is becoming a big crowd favorite
each Fall. |

Hancock, in the past few years,
has embarked on a highway beautification project on South Lincoln
Dr. (US41). This year, tomato plants were added, and fruit later
donated. |
