2005 Houghton County Fair
Held at the Houghton County Fair Grounds in Hancock, the 54th annual event was a great success, with superb weather, and was held from August 25 thru 28.

The opening day on Thursday featured the Miss Teen Houghton County Pageant. A large crowd was on hand in the Houghton County Ice Arena.

Saturday's events included a Celebrity Horseshoe Pitching Contest, pitting opposing teams from the Cities of Hancock and Houghton.

Saturday was also Veteran's Day at the Fair, with ceremonies by the 15th District VFW Honor Guard, and the Copper Country Veterans Association.

Later in the evening, the Monster Truck Show, a huge crowd favorite.

And they get underway, with trucks running from 1,400 to nearly 2,000 horsepower.
